trying progress again...

we're going to try to give isaiah some time of the vent today, and we are cutting back on some of the meds- mostly just to try to keep some forward motion while we watch carefully for seizures. he has had two since the big one last wednesday.

he is constantly asking for water to drink, and we'll going to try- slowly- to get his stomach back to work today.

he's doing pretty well, all told. there are still plenty of mysteries, and i'm not sure all of them need to be solved- but he is spiking fevers for no apparent reason, and that's a sure block of the exit- so we carry on and take things as they come. looks like we'll be here to catch the super bowl fervor at least- so go bears (sorry indiana folks!).

Joe,
Your comment about mysteries, and not all of them need to be solved, is what Faith is all about. I've never met any of you, but am so moved by your deep Faith and I find you all to be such an inspiration.
I check your posting more then once per day, and like any parent, savor each victory. Know that prayers continue to come from many parts....
By the way, you are both so eloquent in capturing your thoughts - thanks for sharing.

While folks may have favorites - a colt or a bear - we keep on cheering for Zaya - our heir!! The thing that will be Super about Sunday is a little guy who has struggled to make a goal! We keep praying that he may be making the winning touchdown in Holland, Michigan before long! We love you all! P.S. We also hope that Joey will be touching down in Chicago soon to cheer on his little brother! GGV

It must be a good sign that Isaiah wants water. I continue to pray that decreasing the meds and the ventilator goes smoothly. And no more seizures. That little man sure is a fighter.
Hugs and patience,
Liz

Joe and Jen: Every night Carolyn asks how Isaiah is doing, and I bring her up to date on the day's happenings. We're thinking of you.

Dear Joe & Jen,
We will sure be watching prayerfully as Isaiah is given liquids and withdrawn from the vent and some meds. So thankful you are keeping us posted and making plans for Joey to be with you - and Jon too. That will be a blessing.
That being said, everything in your post was looking positive until you wrote 'go bears.' It will be a memorable superbowl, won't it? Go Colts!
Love,
Cecilia (Your Hoosier cousin & family!)
