Jen Joe Joey & Isaiah

the grind....

it feels like we've been here a long time, and that means that we're getting into kind of an uneasy, uncomfortable routine. isaiah spent from 8 am until 5 pm off the vent today- and he was definitely tired out from that. joey and jon continue to run about town in the cold, and we're opting for the chicken pot pie being made by volunteers at the ronald mcdonald house for dinner tonight. jon takes off tomorrow, and ame comes in to help with joey saturday. and the beat goes on.... we wait for isaiah to get better, and hope every time we walk in the room after some time away that nothing new has cropped up....

We trust that at least the bitter cold is subsiding so that your trips back and forth to the hospital are not so bone chilling. I was happy to talk with Joey for a few minutes today - enroute to his new adventure - he sounds like he is faring well. We are sure he will enjoy time with Ame next week also. So the two of you watch and wait and have your patience tried with every passing day. Two weeks IS a long time but "this too shall pass" and each day without a new complication should give you new hope that you just might be over the worse part of this episode. So, dear ones - onward and upward - we are all still cheering in the wings!! We love you! GGV

Dear Joe & Jen, well if it feels like you've been there for a long time you're right on target - it HAS been a long time - especially for being on a roller-coaster!
I pray each day - actually several times a day - that you will be given all sorts of strength and grace to keep it up and not get sick yourselves. Even for people as mature and positive as you mostly stay - it's still awfully stressful to 'wait and see' with your little guy (as well as caring for your bigger guy) - and that's what you've been called to do these past 2 weeks.
Please know that there are probably hundreds of people who are 'waiting and seeing' with you with hearts full of pain, joy and especially hope as we watch for your posts.
Love, Cecilia

weeks must seem like months, but know that each day is one day closer to coming home. we continue to pray for a speedy recovery, and all the little kinks to be worked out. we love you all very much and send our prayers and thoughts your way. jim
