another bug
jen made it back safely yesterday, and ame got home safely as well. now we're back in the rotation here, trying to make some headway before the weekend lull. isaiah does have a respiratory bug that has pretty much laid him out-- he slept about 20 hours yesterday, and has not been able to tolerate being off of the vent. he is getting some new antibiotics, and we're hoping to see fast results from those.
he didn't sleep well last night though, between all that sleep yesterday and a habit of not sleeping as well when jen is with him.... so another sunny, frigid day in chicago passes us by.

I'm glad to hear Jen made it back. I wish I had something profound to add, but just keep the faith and know that we're all back here praying for the little man to get better, and for patience and peace, etc. for you and Jen and Joey. I hope the sunny days comes real soon.

as we have had a week of birthdays, and other celebrations in our house, i can't help to think about how much I miss you guys. jen, i miss the daily talks over your cup of tea, and my coffee. i miss making plans for our families to get together. i miss having my best friend to complain to, or rejoice with. i miss caling and saying "i just have a quick question" knowing that it never ends up being quick, and the questions never seem to be the real reason behind my call. it is these small things that i realize I take for granted on a daily basis. i pray for the return of normalcy on any scale for all of you. i am sure you could fill an entire notebook with the things you are missing. thinking of you all today and in the days to come. i love you

We're trying to send anti-bug vibes your way; however, they seem to be taking longer than we wanted. Reading Cole's very moving email puts so much into words. We hope you have a day with even occasional joys that flicker warmth on these cold, cold days.

Sending warm and healthy vibes to you and Isaiah.

Joe,
I had no idea you were in the Windy City. My prayers and best wishes are with you and your family. I'll check out your blog, now that I'm aware of it.
